Raymond Red

Filmmaker

Raymond Red began as a painter and photographer, one of ten children in a family whose male members were inclined towards the visual arts. Red, also brother to Kinse filmmaker Jon Red, shifted to film on discovering the broader dimensions of film. His short film Anino took home the Cannes Palm d’or in 2000, while his recent full length film, Himpapawid, toured international film festivals including Film Festival Rotterdam,Vancouver Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival, Montreal World Film Festival and the London Film Festival of the BFI to much critical acclaim.
